Nuclear Applied Science Lap


The Nuclear application laboratory was established in 1982 through the IAEA project (SUD/006) with support from the International Atomic Energy Agency. It located in physics department, faculty of science, University of Khartoum. According to the agreement between physics department and Sudan Atomic Energy Commission (SAEC) the laboratory beco under supervision of Chemistry and Nuclear Physics Institute.


This laboratory is responsible for the elemental analysis of various environmental (soil, air, water) and biological materials (blood, hair, nails ..), and providing services to postgraduate and undergraduate student, researchers, universities and other institutions. Also it is used as education and training unit.


It is consists of four divisions:

- X-ray fluorescence lab.
- Neutron generator lab.
- X-ray diffract meter lab.
- Mos bauer lab.
